Locations

The main location for filming our trailer will be this house in london suburb, Bromley. This home is typical of the area and reflects the fairly average lifestyle of the characters. This, like most of the mise en scen, will be fairly bland to keep the focus on the colour which the characters bring to the story.

Final Logo.

The clear favourite from both us and those surveyed was the simplistic big ben. We felt this sums up our company well without being over dramatic.

We carried out a survey of potential logos to decide which one would be best for our company from an audiences perspective.

Casting Update

When casting our film I encountered a problem in the fact that all the people auditioning were young and we lacked a sufficient amount of contacts that fit into the age range of our characters. This could present a problem as it threatens the integrity of our film.

The first solution that I thought of was to change the plot to a sixth form prom, instead of a wedding. This meant that the cast would all fit the relevant characteristics and we would have an easy location to film on, however I think this would massively lower the standard of our film a it would veer towards a 'bubblegum teen movie'.

I instead decided to examine the elements of our film that could be easily changed: the hair, makeup and costume. I will take inspiration from Brad Pitt in the film 'the mysterious case of Benjamin Button' (pictured below).

Pitch.

Sibling rivalry is one thing. But for younger brother Henry, it's all gone too far. After having the girl of his dreams stolen by his older brother, he has just 10weeks to find someone better and end the rivalry once and for all.

We will then discuss locations, potential casting, budget and give the audience an opportunity to voice any concerns they may have, as well as ask questions.

Analysis of Trailers.

Insidious 2.

The trailer begins with the characters  happily enjoying each others company to upbeat music. However the first thing we notice is that the inside of the house is dark and all windows are opaque, in stark contrast to the well lit and visible exterior. This suggests to the audience that the house is home, not just to 'Grandma', but also to a host of secrets and unexpected occurrences. Upon entering the house we see more evidence of the tinted secrecy by the fact 'Grandma' is wearing black. When text such as 'THEIR CHILD INHERITED A GIFT' is seen, it appears to on a plain black background, suggesting that the answers/clues will only come from the darkness.
